Did you know that if you currently hold a .co.uk domain registration, you may also have the reserved right to register it’s related .uk domain?
On 10 June 2014, Nominet, the registry company behind UK web domain names, made their .uk domain names available for the first time, alongside .co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk and so on.
They have reserved over 10 million .uk domains for existing domain name holders. This means that, for example, if someone has held ‘mybusiness.co.uk’ since before the 10 June 2014, they have the reserved right of registering ‘mybusiness.uk’, up to 10 June 2019.
If Dzinr or BlueCoffee Ltd. have previously helped you register .co.uk domains and you wish to register the short .uk version(s), please email your requests to hello@dzinr.com and we’ll be happy to provide you with a quote for registration and domain records management, based on the number of domains you require.
Alternatively, if you’re more adept at domain registration and records management, simply contact your domain registrar direct.
